Over the course of three 10-week studios, The Live Well Collaborative, in collaboration with the University of Cincinnati, embarked on a process to inform the residents of the city of Cincinnati about the benefits of multi-modal transportation with a special focus on light rail.
Phase one of the project (Foundational Research) was a 10-week studio where graduate students researched the effects of streetcars in other areas of the world.
Phase two of the project (Synthesis and Conceptualization) was a multi disciplinary studio where students set out to establish a strong sense of connection between the valuable assets of Cincinnati's unique neighborhoods.
A play on words between Transportation and Forum, TransForum was created during Phase three of this project in the summer quarter of 2010. During this phase, students have worked to use the research from Phase One and the concepts of Phase Two to help promote and educate the community about multi-modal transportation in Cincinnati.

a brand identity

The main objective of the Urban Transportation Studio was to package all of the research and
conceptual ideas of the previous studios under one brand identity: TransForum. I created the name, logo style guide and mission statement in hopes of sparking a dialogue about multi-modal transportation in Cincinnati.

infographics

Infographics were created to create easily-digestible answers to many of the questions surrounding Cincinnati's streetcar initiative. Posters and post cards were created to address misinformation surrounding streetcar funding, politics, and route information.

cincinnatitransforum.org

Most of the promotional materials created during the course of the studio were meant to direct the audience to more comprehensive research. CincinnatiTransForum.org acted as a hub of information from all of the work done in the previous studios.

transforum information hub + promotional materials

An information hub was created to display the history of streetcars in Cincinnati, infographics, and the benefits of multi-modal transportation. The information hub traveled around the city of Cincinnati over the course of the 10-week studio. We distributed T-shirts, stickers, magnets, post-cards, and stadium cushions to visitors of the hub.
